Being a brown fan is hard because lots of times the brown characters are treated as lesser than their white counterparts but being a brown female fan who wants to see more brown female characters is hard. When people like myself point out the racism and the unfair treatment we are often gas lit or told that we are being paranoid, but are we?

Another reason it is hard to be a brown female fan of a brown female character is because we get excited at seeing representation for people who look like us but then we get frustrated because the brown female characters are being written in a way where they are not allowed to live up to their full potential or when you do flush out a brown woman she is either killed off or derailed to prop up a white character.

I have a complicated relationship with this franchise, especially now. And of course, none of them cover the whole show. But at its core, I know this show is something good. The other dubs suck, so I can see your issue with finding it hard to get into it. I think you could still enjoy the show with the original seasons but I understand your frustrations.
